The Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation in June presented $19,000 in scholarships to eight members of the Hatboro-Horsham High School class of 2014. Scholarship winners are as follows:
Jake Cresta: $5,000
Lauren Baumeister: $3,500
Melissa McNeil: $2,500
Nichole Pellechia: $2,000
Rachel Rausa: $1,500
Jane Henry: $1,500
Kelsey Dool: $1,500
Kelly Hogan: $1,500
Since its inception in the fall of 2011, the Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation has raised more than $80,000 that it has put back into the community. In addition to granting more than 50 scholarships, the foundation has sent students to leadership conferences. The nonprofit organization has also visited 10 high schools to engage with youth about its mission to encourage responsible decision-making.
