Twenty-five golf foursomes took to the greens at Commonwealth National Golf Club on July 22 for the eighth annual Edward Taylor Coombs Golf Outing.
The organization\’s largest fundraiser drew a sold out crowd of 190 attendees for that evening\’s scholarship awards dinner.
More than a dozen Marist College students and alum – many who knew and played lacrosse with Edward – participated in the event, as did family, friends and supporters from the greater Philadelphia area and attendees who traveled from Boston and Connecticut.
Cruise Planners, LLC was once again the Outing Sponsor. Dozens of other local businesses, community members and organizations chipped in their continued support to make the 2019 event another success.
\”This is the kind of resiliency and support we get,\” Golf Committee member Tina Coombs said.
Proceeds from the eighth annual outing will fund the Foundation\’s 2020 scholarships, she said.
Her husband, Eric, told attendees at the scholarship awards dinner that their son, Edward shines down on them every year.
\”He still lives,\” Eric told the audience. \”He still lives in this Foundation. He still lives in our hearts.\”
