FALL BALL SHOUT OUT!!!

In 2012, the ETC Foundation partnered with Marist and Ursinus to host the first ETC Fall Ball Shout-Out on October 21-22. The event featured Division 1 and Division II men’s teams Marist, Lafayette, Binghamton, Manhattan, Merrimack, and Dowling. Saturday also included Division 1 women’s teams Marist, Wagner, and La Salle. As well as Division III men’s teams Ursinus, St. Mary’s, Cabrini, McDaniel, Montclair State, Scranton, Mercy and Eastern.

The Second Annual Fall Ball Shout-Out was held on October 12-13, 2013 and drew even greater crowds than the first year. Playing on Hatboro-Horsham\’s new turf field, the event featured Division 1 and Division II Men’s teams from Marist, NYIT and Merrimack and Division 1 Women’s teams from Marist, Wagner, La Salle, Drexel, Columbia and Central Connecticut State University. Division III teams included Ursinus, St. Mary’s, McDaniel, Montclair State, Elizabethtown, Eastern Connecticut, Albright and Eastern.

Proceeds from this event have been given to the Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) Center at Boston University.  CTE is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in athletes (and others) with a history of repetitive brain trauma, including symptomatic concussions as well as asymptomatic subconcussive hits to the head. CTE has been confirmed in retired professional football players and other athletes who have a history of repetitive brain trauma. To find out more about CTE please visit here.
