The first annual 7v7 Edward Coombs Memorial Flag Football Tournament will take place at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field on the campus of Marist College from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19. Former men\’s lacrosse player and current student assistant coach R.J. Discher is running the tournament for his senior capping project. The event is in memory of Marist Lacrosse teammate Eddie Coombs who was tragically killed in an automobile accident this past summer. All proceeds will benefit the Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation.
The Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation was set up by Eddie\’s family to honor those student-athletes who exemplify the same strong character as Eddie. Eddie was a well-respected member of the Marist Community by staff and students. He had the ability to make everyone feel as though he was their best friend with his smile.
Cost is $100 per team for the 7-on-7 tournament. All participants will receive a black wrist band that reads \”Play Fast Live Slow\” \”EC34\”.
