The sixth annual Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation Golf Outing and Scholarship Award Dinner will be held at Commonwealth National Golf Club, 250 Babylon Road, Horsham, Pennsylvania, on July 24. Registration is available on a first come, first served basis. For only $300, golfers enjoy lunch, a round of golf, cocktails, dinner, a live auction, and a scholarship awards presentation. We will again be offering dinner-only tickets for our 2017 event as well golfing and dinner combo tickets. Marist College will be hosting the 5th Annual Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation Fall Lacrosse Tournament on Oct. 16. Admission is $5 and all proceeds benefit the ETC Foundation. The event was established by the ETC Foundation and Edward's father, Eric Coombs.  Over the last four years, the Fall Ball Tournament was held at Hatboro-Horsham High School, Edward's alma mater, which is located in Horsham, Pennsylvania. Hundreds of Division I, Division II and Division III male and female lacrosse athletes from more than a dozen colleges took to the fields for previous Fall Ball Shootouts. 4th Annual Fall Ball Shootout a Success

Hundreds of Division I, Division II and Division III male and female lacrosse athletes from more than a dozen colleges took to the fields at Hatboro-Horsham High School's Stadium on Oct. 10, 2015 for the fourth annual Fall Ball Shootout. Weather was perfect for the all-day competition, which also featured a youth skills building clinic. Spectators came out, standing along the sidelines and sitting in the bleachers, to cheer on their favorite teams. About 100 Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation volunteers helped to make this year's event a success in a variety of ways, from directing traffic into the parking lots, manning tables where T-shirts, programs and other items were available, to serving as goalie during the games and more. 4th Annual Fall Ball Shootout Set for Oct. 10

The Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation is gearing up for the fourth annual Fall Ball Shootout. The fundraising event, which, since its inception has benefited the Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center at Boston University, will be held at Hatboro-Horsham High School's stadium on Babylon Road in Horsham Township on Oct. 10. Organizers anticipate 1,000 spectators at the lacrosse challenge, which features more than 500 college men and women Division I, Division II and Division III athletes. Admission is $5 per person. The fourth annual Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation Golf Outing is a hole-in-one in terms of fundraising efforts benefitting educational opportunities for young people. In addition to a golf tournament at the prestigious Commonwealth National Golf Club, the evening caps with a scholarship awards dinner for Hatboro-Horsham High School students, as well as students from Strath Haven High School. Organizer Forrestine Coombs said six scholarships were given to graduates from her son Edward’s alma mater, Hatboro-Horsham High School, while three were awarded to Strath Haven High School grads. Mrs. Coombs said the Foundation’s scholarship committee received 22 applications from Hatboro-Horsham students. Proceeds from the third annual Team EC/RN 5K, which was organized by Hatboro-Horsham High School seniors Mary Strehl, Montana Morris and Kimberly Hench and coordinated through the nonprofit Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation, will fund scholarships for local high school graduates. In 2012, the ETC Foundation partnered with Marist and Ursinus to host the first ETC Fall Ball Shout-Out on October 21-22. The event featured Division 1 and Division II men’s teams Marist, Lafayette, Binghamton, Manhattan, Merrimack, and Dowling. Saturday also included Division 1 women’s teams Marist, Wagner, and La Salle. As well as Division III men’s teams Ursinus, St. Mary’s, Cabrini, McDaniel, Montclair State, Scranton, Mercy and Eastern. The Second Annual Fall Ball Shout-Out was held on October 12-13, 2013 and drew even greater crowds than the first year. Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. hosted its first “Montco March Madness Basketball Tournament” on March 1. The primary goal of the event was to raise money for charities in the area, such as the Edward Taylor Coombs (ETC) Foundation, in an enjoyable, upbeat atmosphere. The late Edward Taylor Coombs graduated from the chapter in 2010. He was a rising sophomore at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The ETC Foundationwas established in honor of 19-year-old Coombs, an academically gifted and athletically talented young man. This event will take place at Hatboro-Horsham. Saturday the 12th, will feature Division 1 and Division II Men’s teams from Marist, NYIT and Merrimack. Saturday will also include Division 1 Women’s teams from Marist, Wagner, La Salle, Drexel, Columbia and Central Connecticut State University. Division III teams will meet on Sunday the 13th. This game day will include teams from Ursinus, St. Mary’s, McDaniel, Montclair State, Elizabethtown, Eastern Connecticut, Albright and Eastern.
